Kamilah Mathews

Incoming Principal for the Upcoming 2023-24 School Year

Dear A.Z. Kelley Families, Friends, and Supporters,

Welcome to A.Z. Kelley Elementary School! We are a safe, joyful, and supportive school nestled in the Cane Ridge community. We educate students in Pre-Kindergarten through Fourth grade. It is my privilege to honor A.Z. Kelley’s legacy of “educational equality” through action. I am passionate about education, and believe it is our responsibility to provide an education that prepares our community of diverse learners for higher education and career readiness, and experiential opportunities that encourage our students to dream bigger.

At A.Z. Kelley Elementary School, we embrace diversity, pursue excellence, and foster relationships through our C.R.O.C.S expectations: caring for others, responsible for actions, on task and focused, committed to excellence, safe and respectful. The success of our school depends on the support of our staff, students, families, and community. It is important for our students to be connected to school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community.

We appreciate your interest in A.Z. Kelley. I invite you to schedule a visit to our campus so you can meet our dedicated staff and experience what makes our school a great place to learn and grow. We look forward to partnering with you and working together to ensure every student lives a life of purpose and joy.

In partnership,

Kamilah Mathews
